BEYOND APPEARENCES

This poem reflects on the fundamental nature of humans and the world around us, emphasizing that every being and object has its unique functions, reasons, and purposes. It reminds us not to judge or compare, as everything in existence holds its own significance.

Through the verses, I have explored these ideas using various examples. In the final stanza, I concluded with key insights that serve as a reminder to carry these lessons throughout our journey in life.

BEYOND APPEARENCES

Not every being is the same,
Neither are their situations.
Not every beauty is beautiful,
Nor are all beauties flawless.

Never judge someone
By their present situation.
Never judge beauty
By its current appearance.

Even the worst day lasts only 24 hours,
And the new year you await is just another day.
Even the "Queen of the Garden" faces her storms,
And the Himalayan blue poppy melts away.

By admiring the beauty of ivy,
We shouldn't dare to touch it.
By hearing the call of the kookaburra,
We shouldn't change our course.
